We took the kids to see "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" tonight. Very cute. I'm a Veggie Tales fan. Even since they 'compromised' by not only doing bible stories. For my 16th birthday party - I had a houseful of friends all watching "O Where is my Hairbrush" and the like. :)
Chandler's new line? "It's on my list." Ya gotta see the movie.

I am blessed when....
....my 1st grader gives my 4th grader a practice spelling test to help her study.
.....my 4 year old belts out spontaneous songs to Jesus.
.....my oldest creates something very nifty with her art supplies - no instructions needed.
....I get an email from my {almost} 7 year old to see how my day went. Or when I find she's emailed good family friends to love on them.
.....I find my two oldest ladies at the table with their own breakfast when I pull myself out of bed at 6am.
....my girls all pray in 'their tongues' together with Mommy and Daddy to get closer to Jesus.

kids' homepage
Have you all seen this? kid-surf.com
My kids are on the internet pretty much everyday. They go to the veggie tales site, noggin, and a few other sites. The older two each have a yahoo email address and email frequently. They get on our family calender and check off their chore lists, as well as check out the schedule for the day.
So this discovery has me pumped. Using kid-surf as their homepage, they can only go to the sites I've put in for them. You can even set a timer to shut them off when their time is up. The kids haven't got a chance to see their new set up because it's past their bedtime but I'm thinking this deal is a good'un...for all of us.

cheap(er) popcorn
So the first week back to school is now behind us. The kids are getting back into the swing of things and I'm trying to. :)
The big girls brought home their report cards and I was blessed. The girls continue to do well and that makes me very proud and way happy. Thank God for His grace to walk the path for us.
We decided that a trip to the movies, well, namely THE movie called 'The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything' would be reward for good grades this time around. So we'll watch for that to come to the nearest little theater around. Meaning we won't go to the city this weekend but wait for it to come 'round to the bigger little town 15 minutes away.
Yippee for A's and for proud mamma's and for pirates (that look like cucumbers) and small theaters with cheap(er) popcorn!

it's back to school for the booga's
After 2 1/2 weeks of pure freedom, it's time for the kiddos to return to the daily ritual called school. They haven't complained and I know they're ready. Being home and goofing off is fun only for a while, then boredom sets in.
I, personally, am terrified. We haven't had a bedtime/wakeup routine for 2 1/2 weeks now and my body clock isn't ready for this so I'm SURE their's isn't. They did do good about heading to bed at 8:45 and I do believe every one of them was asleep by 9. Whew. Now just getting up in the morning.... God help us.
